Demonstration of Israeli Armenians

עוד לפני חידוש ההפגנות בבלפור, התקיימה היום בירושלים הפגנה חשובה לא פחות - של בני הקהילות הארמניות השונות בישראל ושל תומכים ישראלים נוספים, לאות הזדהות עם ארמניה ועם ארצאך (נגורנו קרבאך) ונגד המשך מכירת הנשק הישראלי לאזרבייג'ן התוקפנית. ההפגנה היתה מרשימה והתנהלה בנחישות אך גם בשלווה ובסדר מופתי. לצערנו, התוקפנות האזרית הגיעה גם לכאן, וכשעשו חלק מן המשתתפים את דרכם בחזרה מירושלים, ארבו להם לצד הדרך אנשים עם דגלי אזרבייג'ן, חסמו להם את הדרך ותקפו אותם ואת מכוניותיהם באלימות. לפחות מפגין ארמני אחד פונה באמבולנס לבית החולים הדסה. אני בטוח שהנחישות הארמנית לא תירתע מהאלימות המחליאה הזו ותמשיך לדרוש בדרכי שלום את הצדק, מישראל ומהעולם כולו. צילומים מההפגנה: יואב לף

An impressive demonstration of Israeli Armenians and supporters of the local Armenian community took place today (Saturday) in Jerusalem, in support of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) and in demand from Israel to stop its sale of weapons to Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, the Azeri Aggression arrived here as well: a group of Azeri activists ambushed on the side of the road and brutally attacked cars of Armenians on their way back from the demonstration. At least one of the Armenians was wounded and taken to hospital by an ambulance. I am sure that this brutality would not stop the Israeli Armenian community from keeping on to demand justice from Israel and from the whole world. Photographs from the demonstration by Yoav Loef
